Fotopunto collaborates with iStockphoto: More than 50 photographers and 30 models, 4 days of photoshoots in Barcelona

Fotopunto have collaborated with  iStockPhoto, the most visited photo stock agency on the Internet, in the organisation of its iStockalypse anual event, wich this year have been celebrated in Barcelona. A four days event on wich we've met more than 50 photographers from around the world and more than 30 models for continuous photoshootings and workshops in the most beautiful places of the city.

First day

iStockphoto CEO Bruce Livingstone and Ronald Previer from Getty images have inaugurated the event with a chat on professional photography latest tendences. A few hours later, the first photoshoot was done in the Laberint d'Horta (Horta's Maze, a beautiful natural park in Barcelona), where the stylism team, directed by Ángel Cabezuelo, brought the best of its creativity and surprised us all with its stylistic reinterpretation of "Alice in wonderland", "Little red riding hood" or "Beauty and the beast". The models fitted perfectly on its role and hundreds of "fairy tale" style photos have been taken.

Later, in the Velòdrom d'Horta (Horta's Velodrome), the models were converted into soccer players to find a "sport" style for the photoshoot. The local cycling team offered us an exhibition of speed cycling wich gave the photographers another opportunity to get incredible shots, in the distinctive environment of the velodrome.

By the afternoon, and to take some rest, the photographers and the models get into a convertible touristic bus to take a ride in the most beautiful places of Barcelona. ¿Relaxed? Not at all: The lighting equipment was set up right in the bus and the models gave the best of themselves by perfectly posing in a running bus.

Second day

One of the best things of Barcelona is the Mediterranean sea: On the morning, the models, the photographers and the lighting equipment got into a catamaran to take a ride trough the sea, and to take those sunny-fashion shots. Later, another shooting in one of the beautiful beaches of the city.

Meanwhile, a model selection were passing the restrictive security access controls of the Torre Mapfre (Mapfre Tower), one of the highest skyscrapers of Barcelona. They came to the heliport, more than 150 meters high, to take some "business" style photoshootings. A shooting not for those who suffer of dizziness.

By the afternoon, and being all relaxed after the lunch, the next appointment was on the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (Catalonia's National Theater) where we all can enjoy an exhibition of Castellers (Catalan typical tradition on wich the "castellers" build a tower with its own bodies by climbing one over the other). A few hours later, in the greenhouse of the Parc de la Ciutadella (Ciutadella's park), a typical "tablao flamenco" was waiting us with "cantaores" (singers) and "bailaores" (dancers) who oferred an astounding typical spanish "flamenco" dancing show. Of course, the lighting equipment was also installed and hundreds of photos were taken.

Third day

After the breakfast, all the photographers and models came to the Anglí Hotel to perform some photoshoots in the beautiful indoor locations of the hotel, with spectacular modern decorations wich offered the photographers a unique opportunity of creative possibilities.

After having lunch, one of the most astounding shootings was done at the Barcelona's Airport, where, again, the "business" style gave the photographers lots of artistic compositions in the wonderful architecture of the airport.

By the afternoon, in the Husa Hotel, located in l'Illa de Barcelona, the photographers have done a selection and digital retouching of its best shots with the computers that Apple brought to the event. Later, Apple presented the latest improvements of their software Aperture, and some speechs were done, like: "The importance of a good photo selection over hundreds of shots" and "Lighting in fashion photography, makeup and stylism for photographers".

Last day

In the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (Catalonia's National Theater), the event was officially closed and there was a showing of the shots selected by the photographers. The images were sold, and the earnings were donated to  Friends of the Global Fight, an organisation against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
